The Essentials of Tests – 101

Detecting Lies By Use Of A Polygraph The regular conditioning of human beings does not allow them to lie because it is morally and also spiritually wrong. Therefore no human being would want to find themselves lying, but when one is subjected to pressure especially if they are on the downside they are probably going to lie. The body through several physiological processes always responds to instances in which we tell lies since at that time one is nervous and anxious which triggers the physiological changes which can be monitored using lie detectors. Due to its ability to read and detect the physiological changes that happen when one lies, a polygraph is the most used machine to detect lies. There characteristic physiological changes that are associated with lying include an increase in breathing rate. A the difference in rates of breaths which is characterized by a sharp increase in breath rates followed by shallow breaths is experienced. The polygraph can detect such changes through its pneumograph aspect. The the rate of blood pressure also rises sharply in case one is not telling the truth. Again this is easily detected by the polygraph since it possesses cardiographic aspect to measure and identify such signs. There is also an increase in the amount of sweat that is discharged through our skins when we tell a lie. The galvanograph aspect of the polygraph which uses the principle of electrical conductivity of the skin. The the method usually measures the electrical conductivity of the skin which is obliged to increase with the increase in an amount of sweat which is the electrolyte, but it does not measure the actual amount of sweat discharged. When the amount increases it ensures there is increase in electrolyte concentration since sweat is ionic liquid allowing electric current to pass through.
A Beginners Guide To Resources
The polygraph records all the data collected during the test in the form of as graph. In earlier times the polygraphs used to trace the measurements on to a chart paper where after the test the examiner would analyze the results. But in the modern technological era polygraphs are connected to laptops which saves all the information hence eliminating the tiresome work of analyzing the results using papers. Computers also allow one to save significant results for different subjects for later analysis or reference purpose.

There are other advantages that a digital polygraph has. The ability to analyze information collected by use of software that has been developed is one key advantage associated with digital polygraph. the software also helps the examiner in converting the data into charts and other forms that may be necessary. It is advisable that one does not rely on the polygraph as the only test to determine whether the subject is lying.
